The Neck (Cervical Spine)
The neck, or cervical spine, is built for mobility and supports the head while protecting the spinal cord. It is made up of:

Bones: Seven cervical vertebrae (C1–C7)
Joints: Facet joints and atlanto-occipital/atlanto-axial joints
Discs: Intervertebral discs cushioning between vertebrae
Soft Tissue: Muscles, ligaments, and tendons that provide support and motion
Because of its flexibility and constant use, the neck is one of the most common areas where people experience pain or stiffness.

Common Causes of Neck Problems
⚠️ Poor posture (tech neck, forward head position)
⚠️ Muscle tension from stress or prolonged sitting
⚠️ Whiplash or sudden injury
⚠️ Disc irritation or degeneration
⚠️ Joint restrictions limiting motion
⚠️ Repetitive strain from work or sports activities

Prevention & Self-Care Measures
🌟 Maintain good posture — ears aligned over shoulders
🌟 Take frequent breaks from phones and computers
🌟 Perform gentle neck stretches and mobility exercises
🌟 Strengthen upper back and shoulder stabilizers
🌟 Practice stress management to reduce muscle tension
🌟 Use a supportive pillow for proper sleep position

Course of Action
Mild: Posture awareness, stretching, ergonomic adjustments
Moderate: Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, mobility and strengthening exercises
Severe/Persistent: Further evaluation — may require imaging, referral, or co-management
