The Knee Joint
The knee is a hinge joint designed for stability and weight-bearing, made up of:

Bones: Femur, Tibia, Patella
Joints: Tibiofemoral and Patellofemoral joints
Discs: Menisci acting as shock absorbers
Soft Tissue: Quadriceps, hamstrings, ligaments (ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL), tendons, and cartilage
Because it supports body weight with every step, the knee is highly prone to overuse and injury.

Common Causes of Knee Problems
⚠️ Overuse from running, jumping, or repetitive stress
⚠️ Ligament sprains or tears
⚠️ Meniscus irritation or injury
⚠️ Muscle imbalance or weakness (hips/quads/hamstrings)
⚠️ Arthritis or joint degeneration
⚠️ Poor biomechanics or alignment issues

Prevention & Self-Care Measures
🌟 Maintain strength in quadriceps, hamstrings, and hips
🌟 Stretch regularly, especially quads and hamstrings
🌟 Warm up before exercise and cool down after
🌟 Use proper footwear and supportive insoles if needed
🌟 Avoid sudden increases in activity intensity or duration
🌟 Maintain a healthy weight to reduce stress on the joint

Course of Action
Mild: Rest, ice/heat, stretching, light strengthening
Moderate: Chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, mobility exercises, progressive strengthening
Severe/Persistent: Further evaluation — may require imaging, referral, or co-management
